Martin Spellacey, what a Carry On?

Presented by Martin Spellacey Some interesting nostalgia chat and music with Martin

Remember last year, we ran a feature on Some of the Carry On film stars?  You do?  Good, because we continue in the vein of tributing one of the most successful British film franchises with a little bit of slap and tickle and a giggle here or there!

Find out which one of the Carry On team I danced with, learn which one of the gang used to cause Mayhem in the Underground near Brentford and find out who got taken to dinner by Mr Carry On himself.

That’s got to be worth a listen, Saucy!

Welcome to the “The Take It Easy Blog”,  I’ve noticed over the last couple of weeks that the nights are drawing out so I’m looking forward to longer day light as the long hours of darkness in the winter are rather depressing.

Changing the subject,  if you’re wondering what to do with the scrap vehicle in your garden then I might have the solution for you use the listen again links above and you will hear the solution.  So David Beckham is to strip down to his underpants for an advert the details are in the show,  going on to sport now nice to hear that Bristol Rovers had a win today over Cheltenham away at Waddon Road also Bristol City doing well,  you can find out how both teams did by listening again to the show for the details from Paul Davis,  in the third part Paul does his round up of the afternoon scores.

Onto something that is a free entry event tomorrow from 5pm at the Colston Hall is The Poles Aloud which is celebrating polish arts, music & entertainment,  for more details visit www.polesaloud.com  also Tony Gosling from the BCfm Drive Time show came on the show (on the telephone) with what could be said was a scoop for BCfm about the letter from the First Group to taxi drivers at Temple Meads station,  the letter informed them that as from next month if they wished to pick up passengers from the station then they would have to pay the company £400 a year,  Bristol City council told the taxi drivers representatives that there was nothing legally that they could do about this,  so where does this leave passengers if the taxi drivers decide to boycott Temple Meads?  It leaves them with a 15 minute walk to the nearest cab stand which is in Victoria Street.  The taxi drivers would be able to drop passengers of at Temple Meads but they would not be able to wait there to pick up a fare unless they have paid First the £400,  this comes about a year after the drivers were forced by BCC to have their cabs resprayed to conform with the councils ruling that the cabs should all be the same colour and the drivers had to pay for this out of their own pocket,  you can hear Tony talking about this if you use the listen again links above.

Well that’s it for now I will be back on air next Saturday afternoon just after 3pm so until then have a good week.
