Every now and then we dedicate the show to the musical output of a selected artist.  We’ve done it before with David Bowie and Elton john and this week it’s that musical tit-willow Kate Bush that we are concentrating on.

We’ve still got the top ten intro quiz, that this week concentrates on the subject of birds and there’s a few sketches too as Sherlock and Watson find themselves on the trail of the Hound of the Baskervilles!

Bristol Athletic Football Club Dings Crusaders RFC Welcome once again to another weekend of Sport in our city although the freezing weather has put paid to some of our sporting fixtures! Bristol Rovers league two match at Aldershot Town and Bristol Rugby’s home game with Moseley in The Championship have both been postponed because of frozen pitches. One match that survived was managerless Leeds United match with Bristol City at Ashton Gate (3pm).

Friday the 3rd of February marked the 30th Anniversary of the ‘Ashton Gate Eight’ football fiasco when Bristol City football club was saved from existinction at the eleventh hour by two Bristol businessmen. Bristol City Supporters Trust Board member, Mark Tovey joins me in the first hour of the programme from 1.30pm to discuss the fall out from this sad day back in 1982.

Our favourite local football club is Bristol Athletic. This saturday they are away to 6th placed Ridings High who are one place below them in Premier Division Two of the Bristol Surburban league. Tomorrow the Under 18′s are at Yate United in the Bristol Combination.

In Rugby Union, it’s Six Nations weekend. Scotland play England at Murryfield from 5pm this afternoon and in Paris, France host Italy from 2.30pm…On Sunday, Ireland play Wales in Dublin. No match this Saturday for Clifton in National Two league South because of the International matches but  Dings Crusaders have a Gloucestershire Cup game at Cinderford (2.30pm).

Cricket News - Gloucestershire captain Alex Gidman’s Benefit year starts with a Gala Dinner at the Bristol Hotel on Thursday February the 23RD. Somerset Batsman Marcus Trescothick will be in attendence along with ‘Celebrity Master Chef’ champion and former Rugby Union forward Phil Vickery. Tickets are priced at £50 and available from info@alexgidmanbenefit2012.co.uk

Don’t forget during Clane Selway’s saturday show (3-5pm), I ‘ll update you on the latest football and rugby scores plus from
5pm until 6pm, we have the ‘Results Round-up’, so you’ll know how Bristol City, Bristol Rovers and Bristol Rugby clubs get on. Remember you can listen live to this programme between 1pm and 3pm every Saturday on 93.2 fm in Bristol or via www.bcfm.org.uk – just click listen live. If you ever miss it, you can hear it again by downloading the podcast from Paul Davis link on the home page.

Hello and welcome,  the show was a bit of a busy one this week what with lots of those quirky stories.  It’s amazing what thief’s will steal these days as one story demonstrated,  a life sized fibre glass camel which has been used in film sets was stolen from a garden in East Mosely, Surrey,  and did you know that the shirt worn by England World Cup – winning capt Bobby More is up for sale  at the price of £39,995.  I must admit that sum of money would be nice in any ones bank account these days.

The Swedish super group (ex I must hasten) are going to release their final album,   The Visitors,  it will be a deluxe edition with featuring  a previously unreleased track,  the album will be on sale in the UK in April.

Going back to football David Beckham has claimed that he never wanted to be rich (oh yeah!) he just dream’t of playing football,  can you remember the shoe fashion of the 1970s shoes with stacked heels,  short stars such has Tom Cruise have sparked a revival in this fashion with one high street retail chain reporting that sales are 85% better than expected.

And Corrie bosses were celebrating this week when Becky Macdonald’s exit proved to be a ratings smash.  12.4 million Corrie fans tuned in to bid fare well to the mouthy babe played by Katherine Kelly.  Still with TV Loose Women regular Denise Welch was Crowned the winner.

Beware with your shredded documents as there is a new computer scanner that can reconstruct documents,  so far it has been used to recreate documents that were destroyed by secret police in former East Germany.

And finally experts have developed a desk treadmill,  called the work station,  that allows office staff to burn thousands of calories a month while they are working.

That’s it for now have a good week,  don’t forget to keep up to date on whats happening at BCfm by looking at the rest of the stations website.
