My Phone-in guest this week is Gerard Vandervegt who is responsible for a street childrens charity in Mumbai, India called “Good Sheperd Homes”. I met Gerard last year at “Unchosen” film festival but was unable to get a recording with him because he was heading back to India the next day. So we agreed the next time he was back in the UK we would record something and here I’m very pleased to say it is… contact Good Sheperd Homes here :)

It was a great show this weekend but if you missed it you can hear it again here. I speak with Chris who organizes the massive “Slapstick” Film Festival event here in Bristol at several venues around the City. Also Comedy Scriptwriter, Stand-up Comedian and Radio Personality Barry Cryer phones-in to the show and we talk about the lost genius of Kenny Everett, Radio and TV Comedian from the Seventies and Eighties. It was very kind of Barry to call in from his very busy schedule at BBC Radio 4, if you heard a joke during the 70’ up to the present day it is more than likely Barry wrote it.
Music comes from The Used, Rob Dougan, Ian Dury and the Rutles.

Appeal From Nick Broomfield director of “Ghosts”.
Sponsored Charity Walk to raise funds for the victims of the “Morecambe Bay Tragedy”. I have been asked by Nick and Trish, patron and organizer of “Unchosen” film festival against Human Trafficking to ask for your support and any donations you could make. please read the below letter from Nick Broomfield.
Dear Friends, On the sixth anniversary of the Morecambe Bay disaster (in which 23 Chinese illegal immigrants perished), I am walking 60 miles from Liverpool to the deadly spot as a commemoration. The Morecambe Bay Victims Fund was set up after we made the film ‘Ghosts’ which was based on the Morecambe disaster. You can find out more at www.ghosts.uk.com
The families of all the victims are still in need of help not only to pay back their friends and relatives, from whom they borrowed to pay the snakeheads, but also for the education of all the orphans. I am appealing to you for sponsorship for this quiet and meaningful walk that would take place on the weekend of February 6 and 7, a few days before the Chinese New Year when we should all celebrate our spirit of generosity, especially for others who need our help. I am calling on you to sponsor me for £100 up. We are aiming to raise £100,000.

Very best wishes, Nick.
